Hi, I’m Iyas Utomo, a writer and thinker drawn to life’s essential questions—on meaning, freedom, and how we endure. Through essays, fiction, and cultural critiques, I explore how we might live honestly and courageously in a complex world.
My work is inspired by the clarity of Stoic thought, the depth of existential inquiry, and a deep belief in our shared humanity. Thinkers like Albert Camus, Epictetus, Viktor Frankl, and Thích Nhất Hạnh shape the way I approach life and writing—not as answers, but as companions in asking better questions.
Whether I’m reflecting on personal struggles, tracing quiet moments of beauty, or critiquing systemic injustice, I write to hold space—for doubt, for dignity, for becoming. If my words offer pause or resonance, then I’ve done something worthwhile.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy diving into books on philosophy and psychology, watching thought-provoking films, or hosting my podcasts, Lokalogia and Selepas Jam Kerja.
Let’s connect and share stories about embracing the human experience. Feel free to reach out at iyas.imnida@gmail.com or find me on Instagram @iyasotomo. For the longer version of my journey, the door is open here.
